The film's story seeks to free a person from the heavy burden of helplessness and nothingness. Does it offer hope!!! The attitude of inequality deeply hurts people all over the world and raises the question of who takes it for granted the right to judge the small and "disobedient". The main suspect for that is the NATO pact, which consists of the most powerful countries in the world. The animal in the story, the big bad wolf, is here a human being. ‘Little Red Riding Hood’s family consists of the mother sheep, the lamb as ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and a grandfather sheep. The forester and his wife are dogs with a soft spot for sausages. The wolf, a butcher, is a man with a serious problem - he has run out of meat. The story takes place in Zoetropes, which are historical optical and rather primitive devices that display sequences of drawn images in motion. The “O salto do contrabando” documentary, by Paulo Vinhas Moreira, is the result of three years collecting and mapping memories linked to smuggling and illegal emigration in the council of Sabugal. It reflects the realities experienced first-hand by the people of the region, with a completely unique and genuine identity. The goal of the project was to materialise these memories, affording the people a depiction and identification. The idea is that it will be the starting point for new artistic approaches that can in some way add more value to such a singular and genuine identity.
