M\u00e1rio Lisboa photographed the frozen lake, travelling 300 km around the it, at temperatures of between -15\u00ba C and -30\u00ba C. In this documentary he takes us through the journey, sharing the images captured, talking about the natural beauty of Lake Baikal and narrating some episodes of his adventure. Anastasia Tsvetkova, and Maxim Timofeyev talk about the potential of the lake, a unique natural resource, the deepest, the oldest and the largest quantity of freshwater in the world, and one of the richest natural and endemic ecosystems, as well as describing some ongoing projects for the protection and study of the lake.
