\u00c1gata de Pinho (Porto, 1989), as well as being an actress, has been dedicated to writing and creating her own films.\u2009\u201cAZUL\u201c, the first film she wrote and directed (and stars in), premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2022 and in Portugal won five awards at the first edition of the Curtas Awards (best film, best director, best screenplay, best photography and best actress), as well as other awards and honourable mentions. Her second short film,\u2009\u201ccrua+porosa\u201c, is due to be released soon, distributed by Portugal Film. \u00c1gata is currently developing her next project, a feature film entitled \u201cFemmes de M\u00e9nage\u201c, produced by Uma Pedra no Sapato.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Andr\u00e9 Guiomar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andr\u00e9 Guiomar (1988) lives in Portugal, and is a founding partner of Olhar de Ulisses. In 2022 he was one of the Berlinale Talents and in 2023 his new short fiction film called Espinho, which he jointly directed with Mya Kaplan, premiered at the Cannes Directors\u2019 Fortnight. In 2022 he co-directed Saturno with Lu\u00eds Costa (FIC Guadalajara). His first documentary feature film called \u201cA Nossa Terra, o Nosso Altar\u201d (2020) had its worldwide premier at the Sheffield Doc\/Fest, and won the Youth Jury Award at the ZINEBI. He also directed the short documentary \u201cPele de Luz\u201d (2018, Doclisboa Jury Award) and \u201cP\u00edton\u201d (2011). Over the last four years he has produced several films that have premiered in international festivals such as Berlinale, Clermont-Ferrand, Cairo IFF, among others<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Filipa Ros\u00e1rio is a Fellow Researcher at the Centre for Comparative Studies at the University of Lisbon (CEComp), where she teaches Portuguese cinema and develops the project \u201dThe Times of Landscape in Portuguese Cinema (1960-Present)\u201d. He coordinates the Landscape and Cinema WG of AIM\u2009\u2013\u2009Associa\u00e7\u00e3o dos Investigadores da Imagem em Movimento (Association of Moving Image Researchers). She co-edited \u201cUm Olhar Portugu\u00eas: Cinema e Natureza no S\u00e9culo XXI\u201d (Solar System, 2024), Archives In \u201dLusophone\u201d Film (H\u00famus, 2023), O Quarto Perdido do MoteLX. Os Filmes do Terror Portugu\u00eas (1911-2006) (CTLX, 2022), REFOCUS: The Films of Jo\u00e3o Pedro Rodrigues and Jo\u00e3o Rui Guerra da Mata (Edinburgh University Press, 2022) and New Approaches to Cinematic Spaces (Routledge, 2019), and is the author of O Trabalho do Actor no Cinema de John Cassavetes (Sistema Solar, 20).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

B\u00e1rbara Bergamaschi Novaes is an Italian-Brazilian professor, director and researcher. Graduated in Social Communication from UFRJ, with an exchange programme at the Universit\u00e9 de Paris 8-St.Denis\u2009\u2013 Licence in Cinema, she has a master\u2019s in Scenography obtained from the UFRJ and a PhD in Literature from the PUC-Rio having produced her PhD dissertation on the filmmaker Peter Tscherkassky. B\u00e1rbara is a film critic and member of ABRACCINE and FIPRESCI. He has published in various specialised media such as: Aniki, La Furia Umana, Doc-Online, Significa\u00e7\u00e3o, Revista Cin\u00e9tica, O Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo, Blog do Instituto Moreira Salles, among others. She was the editor of Beira magazine and a CINECLUBA programmer at the H\u00e9lio Oiticica Municipal Arts Centre in Rio de Janeiro. In 2022 she was Assistant of the Secretary of Culture of the Federal District Government in Brasilia. She is currently the Science Communication Manager and researcher at ICNOVA\u2009\u2013\u2009FCSH-NOVA in Lisboa.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

C\u00e1tia Biscaia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u00e1tia Biscaia (1983, Leiria, Portugal) has a postgraduation degree in Audiovisuals and Multimedia obtained at the Lisbon School of Communication and Media Studies. A professional photographer, she has won national and international awards, and is a university professor in the area of still and moving images. She has also worked in Film since 2012 as the Director of the Leiria Film Fest, an international short film festival. She is also a producer, scriptwriter and image assistant for dozens of short films. She made her d\u00e9but as a director with the work \u201cChama-se Carla\u201d (2021).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Miguel Cortes Costa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miguel Cortes Costa is a biology graduate. When he finished his degree (2015) he started out as a cameraman for several producers, filming anthropology, culture and nature documentaries in Europe, Africa and South America for national and international TV stations. He has co-directed two films: Malcata: Conto de uma Serra Solit\u00e1ria (2020) which won the Youth Television Award at the CineEco festival and Silvestres (2024), which is screening now. In 2022 he created Lengalenga Filmes with Carolina Castro Almeida, which is a production company dedicated to nature, history and science.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Carolina Castro Almeida has a degree in Painting and has worked in the field of illustration, motion graphics <\/em>and animation for a range of projects such as: children\u2019s books (Cruz Vermelha Collection) , cinema posters <\/em>(A Alma de Um Ciclista; Bissau Way), institutions (European Union Project StaySafe), television series and documentaries (RTP2; RTP Africa). Since 2015 she has focused on the production of film festivals, television soap operas, series short films and feature films and documentaries. In 2022, alongside Miguel Cortes Costa, they created Lengalenga Filmes, an audiovisual production company focused on nature and history<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Nuno Barros<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At LIPOR (Municipalities Association for Sustainable Waste Management of Greater Porto) for several years, he is currently part of the Communication and Brand Department, implementing internal and external communication strategies. At the same time, she continues to lead Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability projects, promoting ethics and social responsibility at LIPOR. A Biology graduate from Porto University, he has dedicated most of his working life to training and marketing in the areas of the Environment and Sustainability. Passionate about image, he uses it to simplify the communication of environmental issues, increasing their impact. In the year that CineEco celebrates thirty editions, it is an honour to continue to be part of this project that has promoted environmental culture and values over the years.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A retired teacher and lawyer, he was born in Lisbon but spent his childhood and part of his youth in Pinhel. Cinema has been part of his life from an early age. He has lived in Seia for 46 years. A founding member of CineEco\u2009\u2013\u2009International Environmental Film Festival of Serra da Estrela, he was director of the Municipal Company for Culture and Recreation and is involved in various civic and cultural events in the city<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A psychology graduate, is studying a master\u2019s in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy for Adults at the University of Minho. She is a cinema enthusiast, including in the backdrop of social and environmental issues, and believes the audiovisual medium can be a crucial tool to raise awareness. She believes film can influence how people understand social, cultural and ecological issues. She is also interested in understanding the emotional impacts of the environmental changes, as well as other topics linked to human wellbeing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Francisca Martins<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Francisca Martins, 15 years old, lives in Seia. She is in the 11th school year in the Sciences and Technology course. She is extremely interested in topics such as animal conservation, fashion and different forms of expression, such as cinema. She believes film is one of the most impactful art forms, opening the door to both reflection and creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is also interested in visual aesthetics, believing it to be a powerful mode of expression.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Gil Marques is 22 years old and was born in France. He is currently studying the Tourism and Leisure degree at the School of Tourism and Hospitality, Polytechnic of Guarda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since he was a child he has been acutely aware of environmental causes and he is currently doing his curricular training at the Serra da Estrela Interpretation Centre (CISE)<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hugo Lu\u00eds<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in Vide, he is 17 years old and is in the 12th school year of the Sciences and Technology course at Seia Secondary School. He has always been a sports fan, and this season he is playing for his local team, Seia Futebol Clube. He likes video games, film and socialising with friends. Having grown up in a rural region, besides the river and forests, in the midst of nature, he has always been keen on environmental causes and participated in reforestation programmes after the 2017 fires. He remembers watching films at CineEco ever since he was a child.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Maria Lu\u00edsa Neto Rodrigues is 16 years old and was born in Bragan\u00e7a, but she lives in Seia, where she is studying the 12th school year of the Socioeconomic Sciences course at Seia Secondary School. She has a passion for figure skating and has been a federated athlete for 7 years. She also loves walking through the Serra da Estrela mountains whenever she gets the chance.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mariana Martins is a student of the Scientific Visual Arts course at Seia Secondary School. She has immersed herself in the world of art since she was small, mainly in the areas of theatre and singing, which are currently the focus of her education. She has attended Seia Music Conservatory since she was seven years old and aspires to become an actress, chasing her dream of going into musical theatre. Further to her artistic vocation, she also enjoys writing and composing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
