Nuno Barros _ Portugal, Biólogo, Lipor / Biologist , Lipor, Portugal

 

Graduated in Biology, from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, in 1996, he has always been linked, for most of his professional life, to the Environment and sustainability. After starting to work in fish population management, he joined Lipor where he began his journey in the area of Environmental Education and Awareness.
Later he created and coordinated Lipor's Sustainability Office, implementing Local Agenda 21 projects, Sustainability projects and projects in the area of Social Responsibility, namely the implementation of the SA8000 standard.
He was a professor at the Escola Superior de Ciências e Tecnologias da Saúde, at the Polytechnic of Porto, where he taught Waste Management.
He was in the United States for four years where he worked at the “Houston Museum of Natural Science” and the “Museum of Fine Arts, Houston” in the areas of training, educational support and visitor support. He returned to Lipor in 2014, currently joining the Communication, Marketing and Sustainability Unit, where he is responsible for managing internal and external communication support.

 

 

Regina Babo _Portugal, Professora na Escola Secundária de Seia

 

Regina Babo, a graduate from the Sports and Physical Education Faculty of Porto University (specialised in high-performance training in athletics), has been a Physical Education and Sports Teacher for 35 years, at Seia Secondary School. As a sportswoman, she was an athlete for 13 seasons (1974-1987), representing the Portuguese national team, Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Futebol Clube do Porto and Santa Clara de Coimbra, among others. She was an athletics coach for 19 seasons (2000-2019). She has always shown interest and taken part in a range of activities linked to environmental issues.

 

 

Francisco Mesquita _Portugal, professor universitário e performer

 

Francisco Mesquita has a PhD obtained at the Communications and Art School, of São Paulo University, and obtained a PhD and Master’s at Minho University, and Advertising Engineering Degree at the Fernando Pessoa University.
He is a teacher and researcher at the Fernando Pessoa University, lecturing Advertising, Design, Creativity and Innovation, in the Undergraduate and Master’s courses, and coordinates Post-Graduate courses in Marketing, Advertising and Design for SMEs.
He has had several books published, including Admirável Moda Sustentável – vestindo um mundo novo (Admirable Sustainable Fashion – dressing a new world), written in conjunction with Madeleine Muller. He has had several articles and talks published.
He is the joint inventor of two patents for billboards that change colour, depending on the environmental conditions, using intelligent materials.
He uses these intelligent materials to produce interactive visual art works, which incorporate the temporal dimension, positioning them between photography and cinema. He has exhibited his works of art on a regular basis.
Also works as a graphical designer.

Léa Teixeira _ Brasil, Diretora do FESTin Festival de Cinema Itinerante da Língua Portuguesa

 

A graduate in Journalism and Public Relations from Brasília University, he currently lives in Lisbon and has been the General Manager of FESTin – the Travelling Portuguese Language Film Festival – since 2010. As such, he has dedicated himself to disseminating and promoting films produced by Portuguese-language countries as a curator, media officer, judge, talker and trainer in event production for Festivals.
Through FESTin he has presented several Portuguese language film showcases all around the world, namely in East Timor, Singapore, Italy, Germany, Tunisia, Angola, Cape Verde, São Tomé e Príncipe, Guinea-Bissau, Cuba, Brazil and the Dominican Republic. This work earned him the Lusophony personality Award 2019, in the Theatre and Cinema area.

 

 

Hamilton Trindade _ São Tomé e Príncipe, Diretor do São Tomé Festfilm

 

Hamilton Trindade was born in São Tomé e Príncipe in 1983 and came to Aveiro in Portugal to study in 2005, where he completed the Agricultural Production Techniques course and graduated in New Communications Technologies (Aveiro University).
He took part in social television projects aimed at the university community and produced and directed his first short film (Iberia), as a collective effort.
He has been the president of ASSECOM-CA (São Tomé and Príncipe Association of Entertainment and Multimedia, Cultural and Artistic Communication) since its creation in 2011. He is part of the Estarreja Film and Theatre production team, in charge of film projection. In 2014 he created the International Film Festival of São Tomé e Príncipe (SÃO TOMÉ FESTFILM) by ASSECOM-CA, aimed at boosting film making in São Tomé e Príncipe and to put the country on the worldwide cinema map. He has been a member of the panel of judges in several national and international film festivals. In 2017 he directed his first documentary Sonho Longínquo no Equador (Long Dream on the Equator).

 

 

Anabela Sardo _ Portugal, ESTH – Seia / IPG

 

Anabela (Oliveira da Naia) Sardo is a professor at the Higher School of Tourism and Hospitality at the Instituto Politécnica da Guarda, Portugal. She has a doctorate in Portuguese Literature, a master's degree in Portuguese Studies and a degree in Teaching Portuguese and French. He was a secondary school teacher from 1986 until 1991, when he entered Polytechnic Higher Education, having started teaching at the Higher School of Education, Communication and Sports of the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda (IPG) and, from 2000, at the Higher School of Tourism and Hospitality. Since 2009, she has been Director of this School, a position she held until January 2015. She has been part of the School's Technical-Scientific Council since 2002, and is serving her 3rd term as president of this body. She is part of the ESTH Pedagogical Council, having been president of the body for two terms. He was a member of the IPG General Council from 2008 to 2016. He is an integrated member of the Interior Research and Development Unit (UDI) and was part of the founding team of the “Serra da Estrela Tourism Observatory”, based at ESTH/IPG. She was also a founding member of the AICL-Associação Internacional dos Colóquios da Lusofonia, having been a member of the Permanent Scientific Committee of this association since 2013 (triennials 2013 – 15 and 15 – 17). In addition to the research she has been carrying out in the area of Portuguese Literature, specifically regarding the work of writer Ana Teresa Pereira, she also carries out research in the area of Portuguese Culture, within the scope of what is known as Cultural and Literary Tourism. Cinema is her favorite pastime, having followed CineEco since its inception.

António Babo Rodrigues

 

An elite-level athlete, he has represented Portugal 15 times in World Championships, European Championships, Ibero-American Championships and Europa Cups.
For ten years he represented Sporting Clube de Portugal, three years Sport Lisboa e Benfica, and currently the Centro de Atletismo de Seia, the club where he started his career and won the silver medal in the European Youth Championships. He was Portuguese champion in 15 different Athletics disciplines and has won the Sports Merit Award (Seia municipality) and the Student’s Award (National Department of School Sports).
As someone who is in contact with Serra da Estrela and involves himself in nature, he became aware of environmental conservation issues from a very early age.

 

 

Rafaela Tenreiro Saraiva

 

Rafaela Tenreiro Saraiva was born in Seia in 1992 and brought up in the city. He graduated in Law at Porto Catholic University, where he later took a Master’s in the same field and a Post-Graduation in Securities Law and Financial Law, at the same teaching institution. He is currently a practising self-employed professional in Seia, where he is also a managing partner of the building materials company Carlos Saraiva & Companhia Lda.

 

 

Margarida Cardoso

 

Margarida Cardoso has a PhD in Ethnomusicology obtained at Aveiro University and is a member of INET-md, at the same university. She has authored several publications such as O Oboísta and Palheta Dupla (AVA Musical Editions) and José dos Santos Pinto: retrato de um músico profissional durante o Estado Novo (Edições Colibri). She has taught the History of Music at Colégio de São Teotónio (Coimbra), the Regional Conservatory of Coimbra and Serra da Estrela Professional School (Seia). She is founder of the Associação Culturxis (Coimbra), correspondent of the Jornal Notícias da Beira newspaper and member of DaCapo – Revista Musical Portuguesa magazine. She is currently the Treasurer of Seia Art and Image Association, where she helps schedule and organise several cultural initiatives.

 

 

Gabriel Batista

 

Gabriel Costa Batista is a student at Seia Secondary School. During his time at the Escola Básica Dr. Guilherme Correia de Carvalho, from 2013 to 2018, he won academic awards attributed by Seia Municipality as the best 2nd-cycle pupil, awarded in 2016, and the best 3rd-cycle pupil, awarded in 2019. He attended Seia Music Conservatory from 2012 to 2018, obtaining Grade 5 in the classical guitar, earning a distinction award in 2017 from Seia Municipality. He was the presenter of the Miúdos a Votos (Kids to the Vote) ceremony, a Junior Vision contest, in its 1st edition in the academic year of 2016/2017. He took part in the Escola Dr. Guilherme Correia de Carvalho Theatre club and in the 9th Theatre Initiation Course, organised by Seia Municipal House of Culture.

 

 

Maria Tavares

 

Maria Tavares was born on 17/02/2003 in Guarda. She lives in the council of Seia, where she has been schooled. She is currently studying the Languages and Humanities course in the 12th school year. She is a believer in environmental and social causes and enjoys documentaries on these issues. It was her school and her teachers who aroused her curiosity regarding these troubling problems. Some subjects of the school syllabus have enhanced her growing awareness in this area, such as Geography. She plans to continue studying and take a Law degree, and in some way realise her dream of helping to build a better world.

 

 

Carlos Besser, DJ Internacional

 

Carlos Besser is from Serra da Estrela, 25 years old and has had an 8 year career as an International DJ.
He has already worked from the north to the south of the country, including the Azores archipelago three consecutive times.
His career stands out for his performances at nightclubs, festivals, university parties, municipal parties and proms.
His experience on the dance floor includes simultaneous participation in three clubs in the region, Gouveia, Mangualde and Viseu. His biggest audience to date was 5,000 people on the largest artificial beach in Europe - Live Beach. His CV includes the release of two originals of his own production, with which he achieved prominence in the ClubdjPortugal Tops, in addition to other career awards in 2016, 2018 and 2019, from ClubDjPortugal's Top New Djs & Producers. The highest point of his career was in 2019, with his participation in a tour in Indonesia, on the Asian continent.
He is passionate about the arts and nature.
