ANAQUIM

9th october _ saturday _ 9:30pm
Casa Municipal da Cultura de Seia _ Cineteatro

With topics and lyrics tailored with sharp irony, ANAQUIM continue to track the times with optimism. By listening to the body of work by names such as Fausto, Sérgio Godinho and Zeca Afonso, and mixing in international influences such as French songs, blue grass music and gypsy Jazz, the result is irreverent. Their live shows guarantee quality, diversity, cheerfulness, interaction and partying. They latest album “O Quarto de Anaquim”, released in 2018, gave rise to the singles “Corta a Barba” and a duet with Katia Guerreiro “O Fado fugiu de casa” in 2019. In 2020, they released the vinyl record “Anaquim” including the tracks “As tuas palavras” and “Ele há gente para tudo”, which is also the music used in the “A Serra” soap opera, broadcast on Portuguese TV channel SIC, filmed in Serra da Estrela. The band from Coimbra continue their journey on the Portuguese music scene, always at a lively and jaunty pace!

José Rebola - Composer and lyricist; vocals and guitars
Pedro Ferreira – Keyboard
Luís Duarte – Guitar
Filipe Ferreira – Bass
João Santiago – Drums
(all partners in songs, laughter and bedroom!)

ARTES PLÁSTICAS - PROJETO RECICLARTE

9th oct to 30th nov
Casa Municipal da Cultura de Seia _ Foyer

RecilARTE brings together the Plastic Arts, Theatre, Music, and Rubbish to create different artistic objects, helping fight against failure at school and educating about recycling, reusing and taking advantage of waste. In this first phase of the project, a total of 120 students were involved, who were challenged to reproduce the iconic works of some of the greatest 20th-century painters such as Gustav Klimt, Pablo Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, René Magritte, Edvard Munch, Henri Matisse, António Palolo, Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí and the Portuguese artists Amadeo Souza-Cardoso, Abel Manta and João Abel Manta (the last two, natives from Gouveia).
In this exhibition, the public can see 14 live paintings, recreated using the broadest range of rubbish collected by the students in the work sessions. On 5th August, at 4.00 pm, a presentation will be made of the project/inauguration of the exhibition.
RecilARTE is a project of the “Partnerships Programme for Impacts” implemented by the Social Innovation Portugal Mission. It is an initiative for innovation and social entrepreneurship aimed at solving two social problems: the lack of motivation or enthusiasm for school by adolescents and the lack of active citizenship towards a social conscience, in particular in relation to environmental issues.

O LAGO SAGRADO, by Mário Lisboa
Technique: Photography

9th oct to 30th nov
Casa Municipal da Cultura de Seia _ Galleries

Known as the Holy Lake and venerated by the people of Siberia who depend on it, Lake Baikal is an important natural resource. Shrouded in mystery, beliefs and the risks that it is facing today, it provides one of the most beautiful panoramas that Nature can offers us.
In constant change, each image is unrepeatable and ephemeral.
Shaped by the action of the climate, each season of the year is different, but it is in winter one of the threats to the delicate balance of its ecosystem rears its head: global warming.
This duality between an extremely fragile location subject to several threats, which puts at risk one of the largest freshwater reserves in the world, led the author to travel the length of Lake Baikal, around 300 km, by hovercraft over the ice at temperatures ranging from -15ºC to -30ºC, capturing the natural formations of ice, the transparency, the light, the depth, the textures, to build a record of these remote locations that fill his imaginary as a traveller.
This photographic project intends to bring to the fore the natural beauty of Lake Baikal, and simultaneously the fragility of this ecosystem, to raise awareness about the threats the location is facing.

ECO TALK - Biodiversidade: mito ou realidade?

15th october _ friday _ 5pm
Casa Municipal da Cultura de Seia _ Auditorium

Biodiversity is essential for the balance of the ecosystems in which we live and, in recent years, it has suffered a very significant reduction. Despite its environmental, economic, social and even cultural importance, some people argue that its reduction is not that serious. Many species have already disappeared, including many animals and plants, and things remain the same. Furthermore, bioengineering and genetic engineering can preserve and improve species useful to Human Beings. Is this the price of evolution or the beginning of our own extinction?
